One queen visits another. T'ien Hou Temple in Stanley is dedicated to T'ien Hou, queen of heaven. She was originally a maiden surnamed Lin who lived in Foochow in early Sung dynasty. Born with supernatural powers, she performed numerous miracles to save fishermen from storms and other disasters. Now she is venerated as the patron deity of the boat people in Hong Kong .
