Enjoying a leisurely lunch at the Harvest Seafood Restaurant, Boat Quay, and gazing over the river. The staff were beary friendly and we were beary generous with their tip. The waitresses thought we are cute, and they were right, of course!
Singapore tick, Europe next and Japan after that. The new Japanese outfits are seriously cute! Even if boys wear skirts… Tokyo Disneyland here we come! China has to wait until the Shanghai Disneyland opens in December 2015.
After a hot day exploring Little India and Arab Street, two thirsty little bears quenched their thirst with another Singapore Sling, this time at the Long Bar, Raffles Hotel, the home of the Singapore Sling. Ok, so this bar is a replica of the actual bar, but after a couple of these sweet and powerful concoctions, you really don’t care! And with the attractive pink colour, it’s become Honey’s favourite drink 🙂
Supposedly this is the original Raffles recipe:
30 ml Gin
15 ml Cherry Brandy
120 ml Pineapple Juice
15 ml Lime Juice
7.5 ml Cointreau
7.5 ml Dom Benedictine
10 ml Grenadine
A Dash of Angostura Bitters
Garnish with a slice of Pineapple and Cherry
We’ll definitely be trying this at home!
And after the drinks, it was time for a concert in the Gardens by the Bay and relaxing in the cool evening breeze.
Time to charter that 747 to take all the shopping home 🙂
To go back in time to witness the signing of the treaty between Sir Stamford Ruffles and Malay rulers Sultan Hussein Shah and Temenggong Abdul Rahman, granting the British the right to establish their trading post in Singapore.
To watch a hand puppet show…
… and listen to a dalang weave stories of kings, heroes, warriors and demons.
To take a trip in a rickshaw…
… so Puffles could have heart palpitations while Honey walked on hot coals.
To visit the 37m tall merlion, the half lion, half fish guardian of prosperity…
